PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is the busiest commuter railroad in North America and runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year-round. Needless to say, repairs are a part of life of the trains that run on the more than 700 miles of track that comprise the LIRR. RCC contracted Amaracon to perform all concrete sampling and testing, asphalt sampling and testing, and soils inspections on the new Locomotive Repair Shop in the Morris Park area of Queens, NY. The Long Island Rail Road was established in 1834, making it the oldest railroad still operating under its original name.
